Megan Petrik, Ph.D., L.P., A.B.P.P., is a board-certified clinical health psychologist with expertise in psychogastroenterology. She is a Senior Associate Consultant in the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester with a joint appointment in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Dr. Petrik is the director of GI Behavioral Medicine at Mayo Clinic Rochester. As a GI psychologist, her clinical practice involves assessment, consultation, and intervention with patients who present with disorders of gut brain interaction and other chronic digestive conditions. Her research focuses on improving access to and effectiveness of brain gut behavioral therapies as well as deepening an understanding of how psychosocial factors impact chronic digestive conditions.

Dr. Petrik earned her PhD in clinical psychology from Marquette University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Denver Health Medical Center and postdoctoral fellowship at the Rocky Mountain Illness Research, Education, and Clinical Center housed at the Denver VA Medical Center. Prior to joining the faculty at Mayo Clinic, she was an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
