Stephen A. Johnson, M.D., is a neurologist at Mayo Clinic specializing in neuromuscular disorders and EMG. He completed his neurology residency at Mayo Clinic Rochester, followed by consecutive neuromuscular and ALS clinical research fellowships at Massachusetts General Brigham. Dr. Johnson's clinical focus is neuromuscular disease: myopathy (eg dermatomyositis), neuromuscular junction disorders (eg myasthenia gravis), peripheral neuropathy (eg Guillan-Barre syndrome), and motor neuron disease (eg ALS). He has a particular interest in ALS and leads the Mayo Clinic Arizona multidisciplinary ALS clinic. His research interests include ALS clinical trials and identification and validation of novel biomarkers to improve the lives of people living with ALS.
