Angela M. Donaldson, M.D.

My name is Angela Donaldson, and I work at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. I'm an Otolaryngologist and I specialize in Rhinology and anterior skull base surgery. Essentially, I operate on the nose and I help neurosurgery take tumors out through the nose. My approach to patient care is really individualized. I like to take the patient's condition and really tailor what they need to their life. My passion is really recalcitrant disease, which means difficult-to-treat sinus disease. I wanna make sure that each patient gets the proper medications and the surgeries based on their life and what they need and how to get the best outcome. People can't see the reduction in productivity or just the energy level that is being impacted by having sinus and nasal problems, so my joy is when I'm able to do an operation and patients are able to go and see their grandkids play soccer, and they feel good, they can play golf and not have nasal congestion, and really the ability to take out a tumor and they look the exact same. They're not in the hospital for two weeks trying to recover. They're at home, being cared for by their family and taking care of themself, and so the fact that I get to do an operation and change people's quality of life, their productivity, their energy to take care of themselves and their families is really what makes and drives me. I came here because they really believe that the needs of the patient come first, and that is my true attitude in everything that I do. It's really getting to know that patient, getting to know their family, and really diving deep into what's the best treatment option for that particular person, and that is the need of the patient coming first.
