Dr. Shakeela W. Bahadur is a board-certified medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of breast cancer, with a particular focus on inflammatory breast cancer (IBC). She currently serves as a senior consultant at Mayo Clinic Arizona.
Dr. Bahadur earned her medical degree from St. Christopher School of Medicine in Senegal and completed her training in internal medicine and subspecialty training in hematology-oncology at Louisiana State University, Shreveport, Louisiana.
Before joining Mayo Clinic, Dr. Bahadur spent a decade as a faculty member at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Gilbert, Arizona. There, she served as the Medical Director for the Genetic and High-Risk Breast Cancer Program and played a pivotal role in establishing the first Inflammatory Breast Cancer Clinic at Banner MD Anderson. This clinic was designed to provide specialized multidisciplinary care,
enhance research efforts, and offer comprehensive support for patients with IBC.
Dr. Bahadur's clinical practice includes care for all breast cancer patients, with a particular interest in inflammatory breast cancer. Her research focuses on the development of novel therapies to improve treatment outcomes and advance options for breast cancer care.
