Biographical summary
Jithma Abeykoon, M.D., is an assistant professor of medicine and oncology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, and a senior associate consultant in the Division of Hematology, Department of Internal Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. He graduated from Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education, where he completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in hematology/oncology. He has received several awards and honors, including the Mayo Brothers Distinguished Fellowship Award, the Merit Award from the Conquer Cancer Foundation of ASCO, and the Young Investigator Award from the International Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia Foundation.
Dr. Abeykoon has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and abstracts, focusing on lymphoma, dysproteinemia, and nucleocytoplasmic molecular trafficking in malignancy.
