MELD Score and 90-Day Mortality Rate for Alcoholic Hepatitis This calculator uses the Model for End-Stage Liver Disease (MELD) score to predict 90-day mortality in patients with alcoholic hepatitis, which can be helpful in guiding decisions regarding therapeutic intervention. Results are based on a cohort of 73 patients and 16 deaths. This calculator is intended for use by health care providers. The results should not be used alone to determine medical treatment. This tool is a statistical model and is not a substitute for an individual treatment plan developed by a health care provider with personal knowledge of a specific patient. Factors such as medical history and the health care provider’s experience, knowledge, and training must also be considered. Results should be discussed with patients when presenting prognoses or treatment recommendations. Please enter values for INR, bilirubin, and creatinine in the corresponding boxes. Alternatively, you may enter a known MELD score.
