Ashlie A. Bernhisel, M.D., has joined Ophthalmology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Bernhisel is a subspecialty-trained, board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cornea and refractive surgery. In addition to her surgical expertise in these areas, she performs complex cataract surgery.

Bakri, M.D., professor and chair of Ophthalmology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. "She brings expertise in cornea and refractive surgery as well as complex cataract surgery.

About Dr. Bernhisel

Dr. Bernhisel completed medical school at University of Utah School of Medicine and completed an ophthalmology residency and a fellowship in global health in the university's Department of Ophthalmology. She also completed a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at University of California - San Diego.

"I'm looking forward to creating partnerships across specialties to strengthen our global health and public health programming," says Dr. Bernhisel.

Dr. Bernhisel has a passion for global health research, including corneal blindness in Africa and Native American eye health in the United States.
