Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Blurred vision
  2. chest pain or discomfort
  3. cough
  4. dizziness
  5. fainting
  6. fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  7. headache
  8. increase in urine volume
  9. infection at the injection site
  10. lightheadedness
  11. pain or redness at the site of injection
  12. pale skin at the site of injection
  13. persistent vomiting
  14. pounding or rapid pulse
  15. rapid breathing
  16. seizures
  17. shakiness
  18. shortness of breath
  19. swelling of the lower legs or arms
  20. tenderness, pain, swelling, warmth, skin discoloration, and prominent superficial veins over the affected area
  21. weight gain

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Abdominal or stomach pain
  2. confusion
  3. confusion about identity, place, and time
  4. dark-colored urine
  5. decrease in frequency of urination
  6. decreased urine
  7. diarrhea
  8. difficulty in passing urine (dribbling)
  9. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  10. dry mouth
  11. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  12. fever
  13. increased thirst
  14. irregular heartbeat
  15. loss of appetite
  16. mood changes
  17. muscle cramps or spasms
  18. muscle pain or stiffness
  19. nausea or vomiting
  20. nervousness
  21. numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
  22. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  23. painful urination
  24. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  25. shortness of breath
  26. sweating
  27. unusual tiredness or weakness
  28. vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Headache
  2. irritability
  3. restlessness
  4. sleeplessness
  5. trouble sleeping
  6. unable to sleep

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
