Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bladder pain
  3. bloody or cloudy urine
  4. chest pain
  5. chills
  6. cough
  7. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  8. fever
  9. frequent urge to urinate
  10. lower back or side pain
  11. sore throat
  12. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  13. swollen glands
  14. trouble breathing
  15. unusual bleeding or bruising
  16. unusual tiredness or weakness

Rare

  1. Painful blisters on the trunk of the body
  2. pale skin

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. bleeding gums
  3. blood in the urine or stools
  4. chest discomfort
  5. coughing or spitting up blood
  6. dizziness or lightheadedness
  7. fainting
  8. general feeling of illness
  9. muscle aches
  10. nausea
  11. night sweats
  12. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  13. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  14. pains in the chest, groin, or legs, especially calves of the legs
  15. persistent non-healing sore
  16. pink growth
  17. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  18. reddish patch or irritated area
  19. severe headaches of sudden onset
  20. shiny bump
  21. sudden loss of coordination
  22. sudden onset of slurred speech
  23. sudden vision changes
  24. sweating
  25. vomiting
  26. weight loss
  27. white, yellow or waxy scar-like area
  28. yellow skin and eyes

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Blemishes, itching, flushing, redness at the application site

Less common

  1. Burning, itching, and pain in the hairy areas, pus at the root of hair
  2. change in hearing
  3. chest tightness
  4. cough producing mucus
  5. diarrhea
  6. earache
  7. ear drainage
  8. headache
  9. hives, itching, skin rash
  10. stuffy or runny nose

Rare

  1. Burning, dry, or itching eyes
  2. discharge, excessive tearing
  3. itching ears
  4. redness, pain, swelling of the eye, eyelid, or inner lining of the eyelid
