Julie A.G. Stierwalt, Ph.D. is a consultant in the Division of Speech Pathology within the Department of Neurology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. She is a practicing clinician who serves diagnostic and treatment roles for individuals with speech, language, cognitive and swallowing impairments. Her clinical focus includes:
- Differential diagnosis of motor speech symptoms
- Differential diagnosis of language and cognitive symptoms
- Diagnosis and treatment of swallowing symptoms
- Treatment recommendations for optimizing communication, for those with acute as well as progressive conditions
- Diagnosis of speech, language, and cognitive disturbance of patients in the acute care setting
