Biographical summary
Dacre Knight, M.D., is a general internal medicine physician, with specialty interest in consultative and diagnostic medicine. His clinical focus includes:
- Expertise in management of chronic diseases for both international and domestic patients
- Comprehensive evaluation and diagnosis of unresolved illness
- Providing coordinated care for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome patients, offering personalized diagnostic evaluation, and treatment catered to the unique needs of each patient
- Promoting each patient's understanding of disease and empowering patients to reach their individual health goals
- Improving medical literacy and communication risks to prevent chronic disease
Dr. Knight is board certified in internal medicine. In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Knight is active in research and education, providing mentorship to residents and students.
Prior to joining Mayo Clinic, Dr. Knight was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Saint Louis University. He also served 4 years as an Air Force physician at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. He was Director of the Phase II Clinical Laboratory education program, and Chairman of the Life Support Function Committee. In addition, he served overseas deployment for 7 months in Afghanistan with NATO Operation Resolute Support. He was Chairman of the hospital Infection Control Committee. He briefed command staff on biodefense exercises, and managed combat trauma patients.
Dr. Knight has diverse research interests, including treatment of complex patients using the latest technological advances, such as machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Knight is married, and a father of three children. He is a former NCAA Division III Collegiate Soccer athlete, and a traveling enthusiast.
