Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Arm or leg pain
  2. back pain
  3. black, tarry stools
  4. bladder pain
  5. bleeding gums
  6. bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  7. blood in the urine or stools
  8. body aches or pain
  9. chest pain
  10. chills
  11. cloudy urine
  12. cough
  13. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  14. difficulty in moving
  15. difficulty in swallowing
  16. ear congestion
  17. fast heartbeat
  18. feeling of fullness
  19. fever
  20. frequent urge to urinate
  21. headache
  22. joint pain
  23. loss of voice
  24. lower back or side pain
  25. muscle pain or stiffness
  26. pale skin
  27. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  28. rapid weight gain
  29. skin itching, rash, or redness
  30. stomach pain
  31. stuffy or runny nose
  32. swelling of the face, throat, or tongue
  33. tingling of the hands or feet
  34. trouble breathing
  35. unusual bleeding or bruising
  36. unusual tiredness or weakness
  37. unusual weight gain or loss

Incidence not known

  1. Blisters on the skin
  2. blue lips, fingernails, or skin
  3. bone pain
  4. chest tightness
  5. coughing or spitting up blood
  6. decrease in height
  7. decrease or increase in amount of urine
  8. eye pain
  9. fainting or lightheadedness
  10. general feeling of illness
  11. nausea
  12. pain in the back, ribs, arms, or legs
  13. painful or difficult urination
  14. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  15. sore throat
  16. swelling of the face, feet, or lower legs
  17. swelling of the hands, ankles, feet, or lower legs
  18. swollen glands
  19. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Bloody nose
  2. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  3. constipation
  4. decreased appetite
  5. diarrhea
  6. lack or loss of strength
  7. loss or thinning of the hair
  8. muscle spasm
  9. vomiting
