Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Rare

  1. Changes in behavior
  2. discouragement
  3. feeling sad or empty
  4. irritability
  5. lack of appetite
  6. loss of interest or pleasure
  7. mood or mental changes
  8. thoughts of killing oneself
  9. tiredness
  10. trouble with concentrating
  11. trouble with sleeping

Incidence not known

  1. Bleeding gums
  2. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  3. blood in the urine
  4. bloody, black, or tarry stools
  5. chest pain
  6. cough or hoarseness
  7. diarrhea
  8. enlarged gums
  9. false or unusual sense of well-being
  10. fever with or without chills
  11. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  12. hair loss
  13. headaches
  14. high fever
  15. hives, itching, skin rash
  16. joint or muscle pain
  17. lower back or side pain
  18. nervousness
  19. not able to concentrate
  20. painful or difficult urination
  21. pale skin
  22. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  23. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  24. red, irritated eyes
  25. restlessness
  26. shakiness and unsteady walk
  27. sore throat
  28. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  29. swelling around the eyes
  30. swelling of the tongue
  31. swollen, painful, or tender lymph glands in the neck, armpit, or groin
  32. trouble sitting still
  33. trouble breathing
  34. unsteadiness, trembling, or other problems with muscle control or coordination
  35. unusual bleeding or bruising
  36. unusual tiredness or weakness
  37. vaginal bleeding
  38. vision changes
  39. yellow eyes or skin

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Change in consciousness
  2. irregular, fast or slow, or shallow breathing
  3. loss of consciousness
  4. pale or blue lips, fingernails, or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Rare

  1. Increased in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  2. increased interest in sexual intercourse

Incidence not known

  1. Cramps
  2. dizziness
  3. drowsiness
  4. heartburn
  5. hiccups
  6. increased hair growth, especially on the face
  7. loss of appetite
  8. nausea or vomiting
  9. nearsightedness
  10. pain or discomfort in the chest, upper stomach, or throat
  11. redness of the skin
  12. unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness, or feeling of sluggishness
  13. weight loss
