Clinical trials Below are current clinical trials.472 studies in Oncology (Medical) (open studies only). Filter this list of studies by location, status and more. A Study to Detect Pancreatic Cancer Using Circulating Tumor Markers Rochester, Minn. The primary purpose of this study is to select and validate candidate methylated DNA markers (MDMs) (individually and in combined panels) for the detection of pancreative ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The potential complementary value of mutant KRAS and CA19-9 will also be evaluated. A Study to Evaluate Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy to Treat Patients with Pancreatic Cancer and Peritoneal Metastasis Rochester, Minn. The primary purpose of this study is to assess short-term morbidity and disease-free survival outcomes for patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma with limited low volume peritoneal metastasis or positive peritoneal cytology undergoing hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy. A Study to Evaluate Hemorrhage and Thrombosis in Hematology Malignancies Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to determine: the incidence of hemorrhage in the 3 months following deep vein thrombosis diagnosis in hospitalized malignant hematology patients, based on anticoagulant use and presence of thrombocytopenia, and recurrent or progressive venous thromboembolism in the 3 months following deep vein thrombosis diagnosis in hospitalized malignant hematology patients, based on anticoagulant use and presence of thrombocytopenia. A Study Evaluating Temozolomide vs. Temozolomide and Olaparib for Advanced Pheochromocytoma and Paraganglioma Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to determine how well the addition of olaparib to the usual treatment, temozolomide, works in treating patients with neuroendocrine cancer (pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma) that has spread to other places in the body (metastatic) or cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). PARPs are proteins that help repair DNA mutations. PARP inhibitors, such as olaparib, can keep PARP from working, so tumor cells can't repair themselves, and they may stop growing. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as temozolomide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving olaparib with temozolomide may shrink or stabilize the cancer in patients with pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma better than temozolomide alone. A Study to Evaluate Azacitidine Plus Venetoclax Induction Chemotherapy To Treat Acute Myeloid Leukemia Patients for T-cell Directed Immunotherapy Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to evaluate immune profile of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) patients receiving Venetoclax plus Azacitidine induction chemotherapy. Testing Lutetium Lu 177 Dotatate in Patients With Somatostatin Receptor Positive Advanced Bronchial Neuroendocrine Tumors Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this trial is to study the effect of lutetium Lu 177 dotatate compared to the usual treatment (everolimus) in treating patients with somatostatin receptor positive bronchial neuroendocrine tumors that have spread to other places in the body (advanced). Radioactive drugs, such as lutetium Lu 177 dotatate, may carry radiation directly to tumor cells and may reduce harm to normal cells. Lutetium Lu 177 dotatate may be more effective than everolimus in shrinking or stabilizing advanced bronchial neuroendocrine tumors. Testing the Addition of Abemaciclib to Olaparib for Women With Recurrent Ovarian Cancer Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to identify the side effects and best dose of abemaciclib when given together with olaparib in treating patients with ovarian cancer that responds at first to treatment with drugs that contain the metal platinum but then comes back within a certain period (recurrent platinum-resistant). Abemaciclib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Olaparib is an inhibitor of PARP, an enzyme that helps repair deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) when it becomes damaged. Blocking PARP may help keep tumor cells from repairing their damaged DNA, causing them to die. PARP inhibitors are a type of targeted therapy. Adding abemaciclib to olaparib may work better to treat recurrent platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. (Z)-Endoxifen for the Treatment of Premenopausal Women With ER+/HER2- Breast Cancer Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz., Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to identify a (Z)-endoxifen dose that achieves (Z)-endoxifen steady-state plasma concentrations (Css) between 500-1000 ng/mL. Dosing will begin with the (Z)-endoxifen 40 mg/day dose and may additionally explore either a lower (20 mg/day) or higher (80 mg/day) dose level based on (Z)-endoxifen Css as well as toxicity. A Study to Compare Two Surgical Procedures in Women With BRCA1 Mutations to Assess Reduced Risk of Ovarian Cancer Rochester, Minn. This trial studies how well two surgical procedures (bilateral salpingectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy) work in reducing the risk of ovarian cancer for women with BRCA1 mutations. Bilateral salpingectomy involves the surgical removal of fallopian tubes, and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy involves the surgical removal of both the fallopian tubes and ovaries. This study may help doctors determine if the two surgical procedures are nearly the same for ovarian cancer risk reduction for women with BRCA1 mutations. A Study to Assess the Safety and Tolerability of CFT7455 in Relapsed/Refractory Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma or Multiple Myeloma Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to characterize the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and antitumor activity of CFT7455 administered orally in subjects with Relapsed/Refractory (r/r) Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL) or Multiple Myeloma (MM) administered once a day (QD) as a single agent and in combination with dexamethasone. The patient comes first. So the mission and research here is to advance how we can best help the patient, how to make sure the patient comes first in care. So in many ways, it's a cycle. It can start with as simple as an idea worked on in a laboratory, brought to the patient bedside, and if everything goes right — and let's say it's helpful or beneficial — then brought on as a standard approach. And I think that is one of the unique characteristics of Mayo's approach to research — that patient-centeredness — that really helps to put it in its own spotlight.
