Duvelisib and Nivolumab for the Treatment of Stage IIB-IVB Mycosis Fungoides and Sezary Syndrome Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. This phase I trial identifies the best dose, possible benefits, and/or side effects of duvelisib in combination with nivolumab in treating patients with stage IIB-IVB mycosis fungoides and Sezary syndrome. Duvelisib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving duvelisib in combination with nivolumab may work better than giving each of these drugs individually, or treating with the usual approach in patients with mycosis fungoides and Sezary syndrome. A Study Evaluating Temozolomide vs. Temozolomide and Olaparib for Advanced Pheochromocytoma and Paraganglioma Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to determine how well the addition of olaparib to the usual treatment, temozolomide, works in treating patients with neuroendocrine cancer (pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma) that has spread to other places in the body (metastatic) or cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). PARPs are proteins that help repair DNA mutations. PARP inhibitors, such as olaparib, can keep PARP from working, so tumor cells can't repair themselves, and they may stop growing. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as temozolomide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving olaparib with temozolomide may shrink or stabilize the cancer in patients with pheochromocytoma or paraganglioma better than temozolomide alone. A Study to Evaluate Azacitidine Plus Venetoclax Induction Chemotherapy To Treat Acute Myeloid Leukemia Patients for T-cell Directed Immunotherapy Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this study is to evaluate immune profile of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) patients receiving Venetoclax plus Azacitidine induction chemotherapy. A Study to Assess Feasibility and Benefit of a Patient-reported Outcomes Quality of Life Tool for Hematology and Medical Oncology Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility and benefit of a patient-reported outcomes quality of life tool for hematology and medical oncology. A Study to Evaluate the Safety, Tolerability, Pharmacokinetics and Anti-tumor Activity of WSD0922-FU Jacksonville, Fla., Rochester, Minn., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and/or the recommended Phase 2 dose (RP2D) of WSD0922-FU in subjects with recurrent glioblastoma, IDH wildtype (GBM), anaplastic astrocytoma, IDH wildtype (AA) and CNS metastases of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). A Study of Biomarkers to Predict Cancer Therapy-related Cardiotoxicity Rochester, Minn., Jacksonville, Fla., Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The primary purpose of this study is to collect Biospecimens from patients who developed chemotherapy related cardiac toxicity (CRCT) and patients who are at a high risk for developing CRCT identified prior to the onset of therapy. A Study to Compare Letrozole With or Without Paclitaxel and Carboplatin in Treating Patients With Stage II-IV Ovarian or Primary Peritoneal Cancer Albert Lea, Minn., Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to evaluate how well letrozole, with or without paclitaxel and carboplatin, works in treating patients with stage II-IV low-grade serous carcinoma of the ovary or peritoneum. Letrozole is an enzyme inhibitor that lowers the amount of estrogen made by the body which in turn may stop the growth of tumor cells that need estrogen to grow. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not yet known whether giving letrozole alone or in combination with paclitaxel and carboplatin works better in treating patients with low-grade serous carcinoma of the ovary or peritoneum compared to paclitaxel and carboplatin without letrozole. A Study of Nab-Paclitaxel as Maintenance Treatment After Cisplatin-Based Chemotherapy and Surgery for Patients with High-Risk Bladder Cancer Scottsdale/Phoenix, Ariz. The purpose of this study is to evaluate nab-paclitaxel as maintenance therapy after cisplatin-based chemotherapy and surgery in treating patients with high-risk bladder cancer. Maintenance therapy, such as paclitaxel albumin-stabilized nanoparticle formulation, can help keep cancer from coming back after it has disappeared following initial chemotherapy. Profiling of Lung Cancer for Identification of Treatment Targets and Strategies Jacksonville, Fla. The purpose of this research trail is to study the genetic alteration/mutation and immune profiling in surgical resected Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) tumor samplesand to investigate the correlation between genetic alteration/mutation status and tumor immune micro-environment. A Study to Assess Financial Burden and Its Impact on Quality of Life in Patients with Plasma Cell Disorders Rochester, Minn. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the magnitude of financial toxicity in newly diagnosed and relapsed multiple myeloma (MM) and amyloidosis (AL) patients. The patient comes first. So the mission and research here is to advance how we can best help the patient, how to make sure the patient comes first in care. So in many ways, it's a cycle. It can start with as simple as an idea worked on in a laboratory, brought to the patient bedside, and if everything goes right — and let's say it's helpful or beneficial — then brought on as a standard approach. And I think that is one of the unique characteristics of Mayo's approach to research — that patient-centeredness — that really helps to put it in its own spotlight.
