Mayo Clinic nephrology and hypertension scientists are at the leading edge of research in the causes, prevention and treatment of kidney disease and hypertension. They are nationally and internationally recognized for contributions to advancing care and rapidly bringing proven innovations to people who need them. Mayo Clinic is also home to the Robert M. and Billie Kelley Pirnie Translational Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Center. Mayo Clinic is developing a renal care center of excellence in the United States, with Baxter International Inc., a global innovator in renal care. The center is being established at the Mayo Clinic Dialysis Center, Jacksonville, Florida. The center provides state-of-the-art dialysis services in a comfortable, homelike facility. The collaboration between the clinic and Baxter will also allow for the trial of potentially new, codeveloped products and services. Mayo Nephrology Collaborative GroupOur nephrology and hypertension physician-scientists participate in the Mayo Nephrology Collaborative Group. They develop and conduct studies aimed at improving treatment of people with renal parenchymal diseases.
