Biographical summary
Dr. Wellings was raised in Tampa, Florida. She attended the University of Florida, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. She then obtained her Masters in Biomechanical Engineering at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. She then worked in the orthopedic industry as a product development engineer for 3 years prior to attending medical school at the University of Central Florida. She then went on to complete her orthopedic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN while simultaneously obtaining her Master of Science focusing on tendon regeneration. She then completed her fellowship at the highest volume Level 1 trauma center in the nation at Grady Memorial Hospital, Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She lives in Jacksonville Beach with her husband and two dogs.
