Biographical summary
Jonathan Schwartz, D.O., M.S.P.H., is a Pediatric Neuro-Oncologist at Mayo Clinic Children's Center in Rochester, Minnesota. He has one singular objective — to bring to the patient the best, state-of-the-art treatments in pediatric neuro-oncology.
His areas of expertise and interest include:
- Care of patients afflicted with tumors of the brain and spine
- Care of patients experiencing complications of chemotherapy and radiation
- Clinical trials to evaluate promising new drugs and approaches in neuro-oncology
- Optimizing quality of life for his patients by integrating his experiences as a neurologist and oncologist
- Organization of team-based care in neuro-oncology across all three Mayo Clinic sites
In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Schwartz is active in research and education, providing mentorship to residents and fellows so as to train the future generation of the best and brightest pediatric oncologists. His expertise is sought after by many academic centers as a visiting speaker and also by scientific societies.
