Biographical summary
Dominique J. Monlezun, M.D., Ph.D., MPH, is a practicing physician-data scientist, AI ethicist, and member of the Mayo Clinic consultant staff in Hospital Internal Medicine. After obtaining his MD, Dr. Monlezun earned his first AI-focused PhD in Global Health Management & Policy, followed by his second AI-focused PhD in Global Bioethics. He dedicated his first years after training to providing medical care to the underserved rural Louisiana communities which raised him. In his current clinical practice, he cares for hospitalized adults with a wide range of acute health conditions. In his teaching, Dr. Monlezun also serves
as Professor of Bioethics for two UNESCO-affiliated universities for graduate students especially from Africa, Asia, and Central and South America, in addition to Adjunct Assistant Professor in Cardiology for UT MD Anderson Cancer Center and Chief Data Scientist for Global System Analytics & Structures. In his research, he has authored nearly 400 peer-reviewed papers and conference presentations in
addition to 5 textbooks attempting to advance AI-driven and person-centered improvements in population health, policy, and ethics.
