Wayne A. Martini, Jr., M.D.

Wayne Martini, M.D., Jr., is a Senior Associate Consultant in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona, and an Assistant Professor at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. Dr. Martini is a dedicated educator with a particular focus on point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and medical education. He has played a pivotal role in the development and direction of simulation and ultrasound training programs, aiming to improve both clinical practice and resident education. Dr. Martini's expertise in curriculum development is reflected in his creation of comprehensive education curricula for medical students, residents, and faculty, covering areas such as ultrasound training, procedural skills, and simulation-based learning. His work includes developing three-year, continuous education programs in ultrasound for residents and medical students.

In addition to his educational endeavors, Dr. Martini is actively involved in research. He has co-investigated several studies focusing on coronary CT angiography and the integration of ultrasound in acute care settings, and he has published numerous peer-reviewed articles.
