Biographical summary
Richard Godby, M.D., is a hematologist and assistant professor at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is board certified in internal medicine, hematology, medical oncology, and transfusion medicine and blood banking.
Dr. Godby's clinical interests include classical hematology, immunohematology, immune thrombocytopenia, hemolytic anemias, transfusion medicine, iron disorders, complex diagnostics, and rare diseases. His academic interests include medical education for both providers and patients, public health literacy and shared decision making, healthcare delivery and experience, pragmatic clinical implementation initiatives, quality improvement, and systems-based hematology.
Dr. Godby enjoys working collaboratively in teams and is often joined by learners in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. He is involved in several professional societies and multidisciplinary research resulting in multiple manuscripts, book chapters, abstracts, and presentations.
