Biographical summary
Victor J. Davila, M.D., is a consultant and vascular surgeon in the Department of Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
Dr. Davila performs all aspects of vascular surgery, including treatment for arterial and venous disease. He specializes in open and endovascular techniques in all vascular specialties, with
experience in cerebrovascular, extremity, aortic and visceral interventions. Dr. Davila is frequently called to assist in planning and executing multidisciplinary procedures, which may require vascular reconstruction, most frequently with neurosurgery, urology, orthopedic surgery and surgical oncology. He also performs spine exposures for the Department of Neurosurgery.
Dr. Davila takes innovative approaches to treat complex vascular diseases with a focus on minimally invasive techniques to enhance the outcomes of patients.
Resident and fellow education is a primary focus for Dr. Davila. He is currently the program director for the Vascular Surgery Fellowship Program and associate program director for the General Surgery Residency Program. In addition, he serves on multiple committees relating to surgical services.
Dr. Davila has served as the faculty advisor for the general surgery interest group at the Mayo Clinic Alex School of Medicine, for which he served as a mentor to medical students, residents and fellows
pursuing general surgery and surgical subspecialty training. He is the associate director of the Center for Procedural Innovation at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, which provides simulation experiences, education and innovation in a learning environment designed to optimize their procedural skills.
