Biographical summary
Dorin Colibaseanu, M.D., is a colorectal surgeon within the Division of Colorectal Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He specializes in colorectal malignancies, recurrent rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and complex abdominopelvic disease.
Dr. Colibaseanu earned his medical degree from the University of Washington in Seattle, and then relocated to Rochester, Minnesota, where he completed his residency in general surgery, and fellowship in colorectal surgery at Mayo Clinic. He has been in practice as a colorectal surgeon at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville since finishing his fellowship. Here, he completed his Kern Center Scholarship in 2020, and continued his research focused on disparities of surgical care delivery and quality of care. He serves on a number of committees and currently serves as the Chair of the Surgical Quality Subcommittee. Dr. Colibaseanu also is Program Director for the Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Florida.
