Cameron Matthew Callaghan, M.D., M.P.H., M.S., is a Radiation Oncologist and translational physician-scientist. He grew up in Oregon and completed a Bachelors degree at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington before spending two years in the Peace Corps in Ghana as a Health, Water, and Sanitation volunteer. He then attended Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana where he obtained his MD, a MPH in Global Health Systems Development, and a Masters of Science in Clinical Anatomy.

Dr. Callaghan has a clinical focus on gastrointestinal malignancies but sees all cancer types. His research interests include novel radiotherapy techniques (Proton/particle beam radiation, spatial fractionation, minibeam/microbeam), DNA damage and repair, radiosensitizers, and radioprotectors of normal tissue. He has a firm commitment to patient autonomy, transparency related to care and treatment options, privacy, and systems-based quality improvement.
