Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bone pain
  2. pain in the arms or legs

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. blood in the urine or stools
  4. blue lips, fingernails, or skin
  5. chest pain or tightness
  6. chills
  7. cloudy urine
  8. cough
  9. decrease or increase in the amount of urine
  10. difficult or fast breathing
  11. difficulty swallowing
  12. dizziness
  13. eye pain
  14. fainting
  15. fast heartbeat
  16. fever
  17. fever sores or blisters on the skin
  18. general feeling of illness
  19. headache
  20. hives, itching, skin rash
  21. lightheadedness
  22. lower back or side pain
  23. nausea
  24. pain spreading to the left shoulder
  25. painful or difficult urination
  26. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  27. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  28. sore throat
  29. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  30. stomach pain
  31. swelling of the face, hands, ankles, feet, or lower legs
  32. swollen glands
  33. trouble breathing
  34. unusual bleeding or bruising
  35. unusual tiredness or weakness
  36. weight gain
  37. yellow skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
