Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

  1. Agitation
  2. anxiety
  3. blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  4. bloating
  5. bloody or cloudy urine
  6. blurred vision
  7. chest pain or tightness
  8. chills
  9. clay-colored stools
  10. cold sweats
  11. coma
  12. confusion
  13. constipation
  14. cough
  15. dark urine
  16. decreased appetite
  17. decrease urine output
  18. depression
  19. diarrhea
  20. difficulty in moving
  21. difficulty swallowing
  22. dilated neck veins
  23. dizziness
  24. fast heartbeat
  25. fever
  26. general feeling of discomfort
  27. headache
  28. hives, itching, skin rash
  29. hostility
  30. increased hunger
  31. indigestion
  32. irregular heartbeat
  33. irritability
  34. joint or muscle pain
  35. large, hard skin blisters
  36. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  37. lethargy
  38. loss of appetite
  39. muscle cramps, pain, spasms, stiffness, or twitching
  40. nausea
  41. nervousness
  42. nightmares
  43. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  44. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  45. rapid weight gain
  46. red irritated eyes
  47. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  48. shakiness
  49. seizures
  50. sleepiness
  51. slurred speech
  52. sore throat
  53. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  54. stomach pain or discomfort
  55. stupor
  56. swelling of the face, ankles, or hands
  57. trouble breathing
  58. unpleasant breath odor
  59. unusual tiredness or weakness
  60. vomiting
  61. vomiting of blood
  62. weight gain
  63. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Body aches or pain
  2. ear congestion
  3. loss of voice
  4. sneezing
  5. stuffy or runny nose

Incidence not known

  1. Arm or leg pain
  2. back pain
  3. inflammation, irritation, soreness, or swelling of the mouth
