Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. back pain
  3. bleeding gums
  4. blood in the urine or stools
  5. bloody or black, starry stools
  6. blue-green to black skin discoloration
  7. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  8. confusion
  9. constipation
  10. coughing up blood
  11. darkening of the skin
  12. decrease in height
  13. diarrhea
  14. difficulty in breathing or swallowing
  15. difficulty in speaking
  16. dizziness or lightheadedness
  17. double vision
  18. fainting
  19. fast heartbeat
  20. headache
  21. hives, itching, skin rash
  22. inability to move the arms, legs, or facial muscles
  23. inability to speak
  24. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  25. large amount of fat in the blood
  26. loss of appetite
  27. mental depression
  28. nausea
  29. nosebleeds
  30. pain, redness, or sloughing of skin at the injection site
  31. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  32. pain in the back, ribs, arms, or legs
  33. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  34. paralysis
  35. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  36. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  37. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  38. red or dark brown urine
  39. slow speech
  40. stomach pain or swelling
  41. sweating
  42. tenderness, pain, swelling, warmth, skin discoloration, and prominent superficial veins over affected area
  43. unusual bleeding or bruising
  44. unusual tiredness or weakness
  45. vomiting
  46. vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Loss of thinning of the hair
  2. painful or prolonged erection of the penis

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
