Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. bloating
  4. blood in the urine or stools
  5. chest pain or tightness
  6. chills
  7. constipation
  8. coughing up blood
  9. dark urine
  10. difficulty in breathing or swallowing
  11. dizziness
  12. fast heartbeat
  13. fever
  14. headache
  15. hives, itching, skin rash
  16. hoarseness
  17. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  18. indigestion
  19. irritation
  20. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  21. loss of appetite
  22. lower back or side pain
  23. nausea
  24. nosebleed
  25. painful or difficult urination
  26. pains in the stomach, side, or abdomen, possibly radiating to the back
  27. pale skin
  28. partial or slight paralysis of the face
  29. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  30. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  31. red or black, tarry stools
  32. red or dark-brown urine
  33. redness, swelling, or pain of the skin
  34. scaling of the skin on the hands and feet
  35. sore throat
  36. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  37. swollen glands
  38. thickening of the skin
  39. tingling of the hands and feet
  40. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
  41. ulceration of the skin
  42. unusual bleeding or bruising
  43. unusual tiredness or weakness
  44. vomiting
  45. yellow eyes or skin

Rare

  1. Vomiting of blood or material that looks like coffee grounds

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Back pain
  2. burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
  3. change in taste
  4. difficulty in moving
  5. dry skin
  6. hair loss, thinning of hair
  7. loss of taste
  8. muscular pain, tenderness, wasting, or weakness
  9. pain in the arms or legs
  10. stomach pain
  11. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  12. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet
