Only do this exercise if your surgery was completed with an anterolateral approach and you are directed to do so by your care team.
Stand facing a countertop or sturdy furniture with your feet shoulder-width apart. Using your hands to support you, lift one leg out to the side as high as you can, keeping your toes pointed forward. Then lower your leg. Repeat with the other leg. Do one to two sets of five to 10 repetitions twice a day.
