At Mayo Clinic, acupuncture is offered in the hospital setting to people who have been referred by a Mayo provider for integrative (sometimes called complementary and alternative) treatment. Acupuncture is also offered at the Healthy Living Program Rejuvenate spa on Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota. You don't need a physician referral to schedule acupuncture at the spa. Mayo Clinic works with hundreds of insurance companies and is an in-network provider for millions of people. In most cases, Mayo Clinic doesn't require a physician referral. Some insurers require referrals, or may have additional requirements for certain medical care. All appointments are prioritized on the basis of medical need.
