Do not put more weight on your affected leg than you've been directed to by your care team.
Keep your toes in line with your hips when you turn or reach for something.
Keep your knees at least shoulder-width apart. Do not let your knees come together when you bend forward at your hips.
Do not bring your knees up so they are higher than your hips.
Use your knees to bend down, not your hips. Reach down between your legs when you pick something up. Do not bend over from the hip to touch your feet or to pick up something from the floor.
