The most common causes of heel pain are plantar fasciitis, which affects the bottom of the heel, and Achilles tendinitis, which affects the back of the heel. Causes of heel pain include:

  5. Bursitis (A condition in which small sacs that cushion the bones, tendons and muscles near joints become inflamed.)
  6. Haglund's deformity
  7. Heel spur
  8. Osteomyelitis
  9. Paget's disease of bone
  10. Peripheral neuropathy
  11. Plantar fasciitis
  12. Plantar warts
  13. Psoriatic arthritis
  14. Reactive arthritis
  15. Retrocalcaneal bursitis
  16. Rheumatoid arthritis
  17. Sarcoidosis
  18. Stress fractures (Tiny cracks in a bone.)
  19. Tarsal tunnel syndrome
