Hello.  My name Emily Krieg and I am the aesthetician who will help you with all of your skincare needs.  I would like to welcome you to the Mayo Clinic Cosmetic Center.  

I believe that when we look good we feel good about ourselves.  Aging gracefully is not about trying to look like you are nineteen years old again.  It is about being the best version of you at this stage in your life.  It is rewarding for me when I get to see a patient's confidence improve because they are taking good care of their skin and seeing a difference.  

I will have an ongoing relationship with each patient during which I will advise them on the best way to approach their optimum skin health and we will decide together which strategy will best fit their lifestyle.  It starts with having a skincare consultation.  During the consultation we will discuss the skincare needs of the patient and I will recommend products and treatments that will target those specific concerns.  Since the treatments and products that we offer here at Mayo Clinic are all medical-grade, they are going to be stronger and more effective than anything offered in a salon or spa.  

Although we do offer a spa-like relaxing facial, our focus is more on the results-oriented treatments that improve surface imperfections such as fine lines, acne, pore size, oil production, hydration levels, texture and brightness of the complexion and hyperpigmentation, which is brown spots and uneven skin tone.  The skincare services that we offer range from microdermabrasions, chemical peels, dermaplaning, microneedling, facials, lash and brow tinting and manual lymphatic drainage massage.  

Some patients ask me why it is important to do skincare treatments and use skin care products if they are having surgery, injections or laser resurfacing.  My answer to that is, a patient can be treated to lift and tighten certain areas or have injections that help with deeper lines and wrinkles, but if the surface texture of the skin is not healthy, the patient will not see the same results that would be achieved if they're working to improve skin health by using the right products at home and coming in for monthly exfoliating treatments.  Think of it as protecting your investment.
