Take this medicine only as directed by your doctor. Do not take more of it, do not take it more often, and do not take it for a longer time than your doctor ordered.

This medicine should come with patient information leaflet and patient instructions. Read and follow the instructions carefully. Ask your doctor if you have any questions.

You may take this medicine with or without food.

To use the Ingrezza® Capsule:

  • You may swallow the capsule whole with water.

To use the Ingrezza® Sprinkle:

  • You may swallow the capsule whole with water. Do not give this medicine through a feeding tube. Do not sprinkle the contents of the capsule into milk or water.
  • Place 1 tablespoon of soft food (including applesauce, yogurt, or pudding) into a small cup of bowl. Hold the capsule carefully over the soft food. Gently pull the capsule apart and sprinkle the contents onto the soft food.
  • Check the capsule to make sure you did not miss any granules. Tap the capsule to remove any remaining granules.
  • Stir the granules into the soft food and swallow the mixture right away. Do not crush the granules while stirring them. Do not chew the granules. Drink a glass of water (8 ounces or 240 milliliters) after taking the mixture.

Dosing

The dose of this medicine will be different for different patients. Follow your doctor's orders or the directions on the label. The following information includes only the average doses of this medicine. If your dose is different, do not change it unless your doctor tells you to do so.

The amount of medicine that you take depends on the strength of the medicine. Also, the number of doses you take each day, the time allowed between doses, and the length of time you take the medicine depend on the medical problem for which you are using the medicine.

  • For oral dosage form (capsules):
    • For chorea caused by Huntington's disease:
      • Adults—At first, 40 milligrams (mg) once a day. Your doctor may increase your dose every 2 weeks until your dose is 80 mg once a day. Your doctor may adjust your dose to 40 or 60 mg once a day as needed and tolerated.
      • Children—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.
    • For tardive dyskinesia:
      • Adults—At first, 40 milligrams (mg) once a day. After 1 week, your doctor may increase your dose to 80 mg once a day. Your doctor may adjust your dose to 40 or 60 mg once a day as needed and tolerated.
      • Children—Use and dose must be determined by your doctor.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.

Storage

Keep out of the reach of children.

Do not keep outdated medicine or medicine no longer needed.

Ask your healthcare professional how you should dispose of any medicine you do not use.

Store the medicine in a closed container at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Keep from freezing.

You may store the mixture for up to 2 hours at room temperature. Throw way unused mixture after 2 hours.
