Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Fast heartbeat
  2. fever
  3. hives, itching, skin rash
  4. hoarseness
  5. irritation
  6. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  7. redness of the skin
  8. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  9. tightness in the chest
  10. troubled breathing or swallowing

Less common

  1. Large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or genitals
  2. rapid weight gain
  3. tingling of the hands or feet
  4. unusual weight gain or loss

Rare

  1. Chest pain or discomfort
  2. confusion
  3. difficulty in breathing
  4. difficulty in speaking
  5. double vision
  6. headache
  7. heavy jaw feeling
  8. inability to move the arms, legs, or facial muscles
  9. inability to speak
  10. irregular heartbeat
  11. limp
  12. loosening of a tooth
  13. mood or mental changes
  14. muscle cramps in the hands, arms, feet, legs, or face
  15. nausea
  16. numbness and tingling around the mouth, fingertips, or feet
  17. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  18. pain, swelling, or numbness in the mouth or jaw
  19. pain, swelling, tenderness, and bruising in your thigh
  20. seizures
  21. slow speech
  22. stomach cramps
  23. sweating
  24. tremor
  25. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Difficulty in moving
  2. muscle pain or stiffness

Less common

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  2. lack or loss of strength
  3. trouble sleeping

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
