Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Back pain
  2. bloody or cloudy urine
  3. burning, numbness, tingling, or painful sensations
  4. chest tightness
  5. chills
  6. cough
  7. ear congestion
  8. fast heartbeat
  9. fever
  10. flushing
  11. headache
  12. loss of voice
  13. muscle aches
  14. nausea and vomiting
  15. nerve pain
  16. pain in the arms, legs, lower back, bottom, or hips
  17. skin itching, rash, or redness
  18. sneezing
  19. sore throat
  20. stuffy or runny nose
  21. swelling of the face, throat, or tongue
  22. trouble breathing
  23. trouble swallowing
  24. unsteadiness or awkwardness
  25. unusual tiredness or weakness
  26. weakness in the arms, hands, legs, or feet

Incidence unknown

  1. Blurred vision
  2. chest pain or discomfort
  3. confusion
  4. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  5. nervousness
  6. pounding in the ears
  7. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  8. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  9. slow or irregular heartbeat
  10. sweating
  11. swelling of the face, feet, or lower legs
  12. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  13. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More Common

  1. Diarrhea
  2. pain or tenderness around the eyes and cheekbones
  3. stomach pain

Incidence not known

  1. Burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  2. difficulty in moving
  3. joint pain
  4. lack or loss of strength
  5. muscle cramps, pains, or stiffness
  6. sneezing
  7. swollen joints
  8. throat irritation
