Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin
  2. chills
  3. clay colored stools
  4. dark urine
  5. diarrhea
  6. difficulty with swallowing
  7. dizziness or fainting
  8. fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  9. fever
  10. headache
  11. hives, itching, or skin rash
  12. joint or muscle pain
  13. loss of appetite
  14. nausea
  15. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  16. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  17. red, irritated eyes
  18. sores, ulcers, or white spots in the mouth or on the lips
  19. stomach pain or tenderness
  20. swelling of the body, feet, and ankles
  21. tightness in the chest
  22. unusual tiredness or weakness
  23. unusual weight gain
  24. vomiting
  25. watery and severe diarrhea, which may also be bloody
  26. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Bad, unusual or unpleasant (after) taste
  2. change in taste

Less common

  1. Confusion
  2. discoloration of the tongue
  3. itching of the vagina or genital area
  4. pain during sexual intercourse
  5. redness, swelling, or soreness of the tongue
  6. sore mouth or tongue
  7. thick, white vaginal discharge with no odor or with a mild odor
  8. white patches in the mouth, tongue, or throat
