Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Agitation
  2. back pain
  3. bluish color of the skin
  4. blurred vision
  5. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feeling
  6. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  7. confusion
  8. cough
  9. decreased heart rate
  10. decreased urine output
  11. difficulty breathing
  12. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  13. drowsiness
  14. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  15. fever
  16. headache
  17. increased thirst
  18. irritability
  19. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or genitals
  20. loss of consciousness
  21. mood or mental changes
  22. muscle pain or cramps
  23. nausea
  24. nervousness
  25. noisy breathing
  26. numbness of the mouth
  27. paleness, pain, or redness at the injection site
  28. rapid breathing
  29. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  30. seizures
  31. stiff neck
  32. stomach pain
  33. sweating
  34. unusual tiredness or weakness
  35. vomiting
  36. weakness or heaviness of the legs
  37. weight gain

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Feeling of warmth
  2. loss of or change in taste
  3. redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
  4. sneezing
  5. swelling, rash, itching, or burning at the infusion site
  6. throat irritation

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
