Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Agitation
  2. anxiety
  3. back pain
  4. black ,tarry stools
  5. blistering, peeling, loosening of the skin
  6. blue lips and fingernails
  7. bluish color of the fingernails, lips, skin, palms, or nail beds
  8. blurred vision
  9. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  10. change in color vision
  11. changes in skin color
  12. chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  13. chills
  14. coma
  15. confusion
  16. cough
  17. coughing that sometimes produces a pink frothy sputum
  18. dark urine
  19. decreased urination
  20. depression
  21. diarrhea
  22. difficulty in speaking
  23. difficulty seeing at night
  24. difficulty swallowing
  25. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  26. double vision
  27. drowsiness
  28. dry mouth
  29. fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  30. fever
  31. hallucinations
  32. headache
  33. hives, itching, skin rash
  34. hostility
  35. hyperventilation
  36. inability to move the arms, legs, or facial muscles
  37. inability to speak
  38. increased sensitivity of the eyes to sunlight
  39. increased thirst
  40. irritability
  41. joint or muscle pain
  42. large, hive-like swelling on the face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat, hands, legs, feet, or sex organs
  43. lethargy
  44. light-colored stools
  45. mood or mental changes
  46. muscle pain, cramps, or twitching
  47. nausea or vomiting
  48. nervousness
  49. no blood pressure or pulse
  50. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  51. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  52. painful or difficult urination
  53. pale skin
  54. pounding in the ears
  55. puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  56. restlessness
  57. red irritated eyes
  58. red skin lesions, often with a purple center
  59. seizures
  60. shakiness in the legs, arms, hands, or feet
  61. shaking
  62. slow speech
  63. sore throat
  64. sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips or in the mouth
  65. stiff neck
  66. stomach pain
  67. stopping of the heart
  68. stupor
  69. sweating
  70. swelling of the face, ankles, or hands
  71. swelling of the fingers, hands, feet, or lower legs
  72. swollen glands
  73. temporary blindness
  74. trembling or shaking of the hands or feet
  75. trouble breathing
  76. trouble sleeping
  77. unconsciousness
  78. unusual bleeding or bruising
  79. unusual tiredness or weakness
  80. weakness in arm and/or leg on one side of the body, sudden and severe
  81. weight gain
  82. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:
