Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Back pain
  2. bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  3. chest pain or discomfort
  4. decreased appetite
  5. difficulty in moving
  6. dizziness
  7. fainting
  8. fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  9. headache
  10. joint pain
  11. lightheadedness
  12. muscle aches, cramps, or stiffness
  13. muscle or bone pain
  14. nausea
  15. neck pain
  16. pain in the arms or legs
  17. palpitations
  18. pounding or rapid pulse
  19. rapid weight gain
  20. rash with flat lesions or small raised lesions on the skin
  21. stomach pain
  22. swollen joints
  23. tingling of the hands or feet
  24. trembling and shaking of hands
  25. trouble breathing
  26. unusual tiredness or weakness
  27. unusual weight gain or loss
  28. vomiting

Less common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. blood in the urine or stools
  4. body aches or pain
  5. chest tightness
  6. chills
  7. confusion
  8. cough
  9. ear congestion
  10. fever
  11. loss of voice
  12. lower back or side pain
  13. painful or difficult urination
  14. pale skin
  15. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  16. problems with speech or speaking
  17. sneezing
  18. sore throat
  19. stuffy or runny nose
  20. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
  21. unusual bleeding or bruising
  22. unusual drowsiness, dullness, tiredness, weakness or feeling of sluggishness

Rare

  1. Anxiety
  2. dark urine
  3. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  4. sweating
  5. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
