Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Blindness
  2. bloody eye
  3. blurred vision
  4. change in vision
  5. decreased vision
  6. eye pain
  7. loss of vision
  8. redness of the eye
  9. seeing flashes or sparks of light
  10. seeing floating spots before the eyes, or a veil or curtain appearing across part of vision

Less common

  1. Pain at the injection site
  2. sensitivity of the eyes to light
  3. swelling of the eye
  4. swelling of the eyelids
  5. tearing
  6. watering of the eyes

Rare

  1. Chest tightness
  2. fast heartbeat
  3. hives, itching, skin rash
  4. headache
  5. hoarseness
  6. irritation
  7. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  8. redness of the skin
  9. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  10. trouble breathing or swallowing

Incidence not known

  1. Chest pain or discomfort
  2. nausea
  3. pain in the chest, groin, or legs, especially the calves
  4. pain or discomfort in the arms, jaw, back, or neck
  5. slurred speech
  6. sudden loss of coordination
  7. sudden, severe weakness or numbness in the arm or leg
  8. sweating
  9. vomiting
