Mayo Clinic's integrated behavioral health approach is an innovative healthcare delivery model that integrates primary care and the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology within the primary care setting.

Specialists in behavioral health work alongside primary care, family medicine and pediatric teams. The goals of this model are to provide cost-effective, accessible, evidence-based behavioral healthcare services to patients across Mayo Clinic.

Inpatient psychiatric units (Minnesota only)

Mayo Clinic Depression Center

A member of the National Network of Depression Centers, Mayo Clinic Depression Center offers comprehensive, evidence-based evaluation and treatment for people of all ages with depression or bipolar disorder. Programs in the center range from intensive inpatient treatment to outpatient consultations with care provided by an integrated team of Mayo Clinic psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, social workers and other specialists with expertise in mood disorders. Pain Rehabilitation Center

To help people with noncancer-related chronic pain regain function and improve their quality of life, the Pain Rehabilitation Center at Mayo Clinic offers adult and pediatric outpatient programs. With nearly 700 patients treated annually, Mayo Clinic has one of the largest adult and pediatric comprehensive pain rehabilitation programs in the country. Longitudinal data shows that most patients maintain the progress made during their programs and experience significant decreases in pain severity and substantial improvements in physical functioning and mood. Since 1972, Mayo Clinic has been treating people who misuse alcohol and drugs, including illegal drugs and prescription medicines.
