The Blistering Diseases Clinic is made up of experts experienced in helping people with skin and mucous membranes reactions that are related to immune system dysfunctions. These conditions may be referred to as autoimmune mucocutaneous blistering diseases.
The first step is an accurate diagnosis
Your visit may include diagnostic tests, such as biopsies and special blood tests. One of the diagnostic resources available to our dermatologists is the Immunodermatology Laboratory, where laboratory specialists interpret your biopsy and blood tests to help make a timely and accurate diagnosis. This group also specializes in developing new tests to advance Mayo Clinic's care for people with blistering diseases.
A full range of treatment options
Your doctors work with you to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that meets your needs and considers possible side effects of each treatment option. Your care team follows up with you to monitor your response to treatment.
