2 homemade salad dressings to know by heart

Homemade dressing has less salt and sugar than store-bought brands and no additives and stabilizers.

Citrus vinaigrette

  1. Add 1/2 cup orange juice concentrate
  2. Add 1 cup water
  3. Add 1/2 cup canola oil
  4. Add 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
  5. Season with salt and pepper
  6. Add 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
  7. Add 2 tablespoons honey
  8. Blend until smooth

Ranch dressing

  1. Add 2 cups plain fat-free yogurt
  2. Add 1/2 cup low-fat mayonnaise
  3. Add 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  4. Add 1 tablespoon dried dill weed
  5. Add 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
  6. Add 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  7. Season with salt and pepper
  8. Blend until smooth
