2 homemade salad dressings to know by heart
Homemade dressing has less salt and sugar than store-bought brands and no additives and stabilizers.
Citrus vinaigrette
- Add 1/2 cup orange juice concentrate
- Add 1 cup water
- Add 1/2 cup canola oil
- Add 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
- Season with salt and pepper
- Add 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
- Add 2 tablespoons honey
- Blend until smooth
Ranch dressing
- Add 2 cups plain fat-free yogurt
- Add 1/2 cup low-fat mayonnaise
- Add 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Add 1 tablespoon dried dill weed
- Add 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
- Add 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
- Season with salt and pepper
- Blend until smooth
