Craving fried food? Bake instead!
Lighten up your favorite fried foods by using your oven instead of your frying pan.
Crab cakes
- Add 16 ounces crab meat
- Add 3 tablespoons reduced-fat mayonnaise
- Add 2 egg whites
- Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Add 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- Add 2 teaspoons fresh dill
- Add 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- Add 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Bake 20 minutes at 350 F
Butternut squash fries
- Cut 1 butternut squash into sticks
- Add 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Add 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (such as rosemary and thyme)
- Add 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Bake 15 to 25 minutes at 425 F
Coconut shrimp
- Add 1/4 cup sweetened coconut
- Add 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- Add 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Process until smooth
- Place 1/2 cup coconut milk in another small bowl
- Coat shrimp in coconut milk and panko mixture
- Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 375 F
