Biographical summary
David Turay M.D., Ph.D., is a General Surgeon with special interest in Trauma Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.
His main clinical focus is in the management of patients with:
- Emergency General Surgical conditions such as Bowel Obstruction, Intestinal Hemorrhage, Pancreatitis and Pancreatic Necrosis, Appendicitis, Gallbladder Disease, Soft Tissue infections/Gangrene, etc.
- Providing expert care to patients with complex abdominal wall Hernias
- 'Damage control surgery'; managing and coordinating care for patients following major trauma/injuries
- Providing consultation and support in managing complex surgical patients in the surrounding hospitals both within and outside of the Mayo Health System.
- Counseling and empowering patients on how to prevent injuries and maintain an overall healthy lifestyle
In addition, Dr. Turay is an educator and researcher, passionate in mentoring the next generation of Physicians and Surgeons.
