Biographical summary
Simon Laplante, M.D., is a board-certified surgeon in the Division of Metabolic and Abdominal Wall Reconstructive Surgery (MARS) at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Laplante completed general surgery residency at the University of Toronto. He also completed an advanced two-year fellowship in minimally invasive surgery focusing on complex bariatric, gastrointestinal and abdominal wall reconstructive surgery at University of Toronto before joining their department of surgery and the University Health Network (UHN) as an Associate Surgeon.
Dr. Laplante holds a master's degree in system leadership and innovation from the University of Toronto. His research focus is on surgical artificial intelligence and computer vision for quality improvement,
decision support and education.
Dr. Laplante works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and is committed to providing the best up to date and individualized care for his patients.
