Susan N. Kok, M.D., an internal medicine physician, practices primarily in the Mayo Clinic Menopause and Women's Sexual Health Clinic and the Mayo Clinic Breast Diagnostic Clinic. Clinical interests include the following:

  • Promoting the importance of addressing sexual health for women across the lifespan and in the setting of chronic illness
  • The intersection of breast cancer treatment and women's health concerns such as menopause and sexual health
  • Educating and empowering patients regarding breast health and breast cancer risk, sexual health for women, the menopause management
  • Disease prevention through focus on lifestyle, habits, and helping patients adjust modifiable risk factors
  • Care for the whole person with attention to the psychological, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health in addition to physical
  • Treatment of complex medical conditions in both men and women

Dr. Kok is also interested in promoting women's health in medical training and education, particularly in primary care specialties. Her research interests include spontaneous coronary artery dissections, an important cause of heart attacks in women.
