Biographical summary
Monique A. Freund, M.D., is an invasive noninterventional general cardiologist. She is an assistant professor of medicine. She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography.
Her areas of clinical expertise include:
- Bedside clinical examination of the cardiovascular system
- Providing clear and concise education to promote the patient's full understanding of his or her underlying heart problems
- Providing the best valued care of patients by doing the right tests at the right time and reducing unnecessary testing
- Outpatient and inpatient cardiology consultation
- Diagnosis and management of complex cardiovascular diseases
- Diagnosis and management of cardiomyopathies, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy and restrictive cardiomyopathy
- Management of acute and chronic coronary artery disease
- Diagnostic coronary angiography
- Complex invasive hemodynamic assessment, including exercise studies for evaluation of unexplained dyspnea, heart failure and pulmonary hypertension
- Diagnosis and management of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction
- Comprehensive adult echocardiography
- Transesophageal echocardiography
