Ahmad Abutaka, M.B.B.S., is an Acute Care Surgeon with special interest in Emergency General Surgery and Critical Care.

His area of clinical and academic focus include:

Emergency General Surgical conditions, such as cholecystitis, choledocholithiasis, small bowel obstruction, pancreatitis and pancreatic necrosis, and soft tissue infections.

Management of abdominal wall hernias, with both open and minimally invasive approach (Laparoscopic and Robotic)

Providing care for traumatic injuries, and critical Care for Surgical patients

Dr. Abutaka earned his medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology, then he completed extensive training and General surgery, Emergency General Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care at Hamad Medical Corporation in Qatar and the University of Minnesota. He was honored with the 2023 Earl Young MD Award for Exemplary Performance as a Surgical Resident, and the 2024 Cassius Ellis Resident Teaching Award from the University of Minnesota.
